If you didn't know already, Christopher Drummond recently rebranded as Hynt Beauty. The established brand is well known for their concealer; loved and raved about by many the green beauty blogger. Although I have never tried their cult product, I caved and purchased their Sweet Canyon eyeshadow palette. I recently sold my last remaining non-natural/cf palette and needed something versatile and neutral to replace it. As much as I love my indie mineral pigments, they aren't exactly travel friendly. I was introduced to Hynt Beauty's eyeshadows by Green Beauty Bunny (my new fave), and decided to take the plunge. The palette retails for $39 which works out to be about £32 after shipping. Expensive yes, but considering you receive three pressed eyeshadows with brilliant ingredients, I was willing (and I didn't get any customs charges!)
The Sweet Canyon colour-way is a gorgeous collection of three neutrals: a sparkly nude, a matte light brown/taupe, and a shimmery orange-based bronze.
The shades are extremely versatile - the seemingly noticeable sparkle in the nude shade only slightly transfers to the lid and actually looks gorgeous on, even for an everyday look. The taupe is a tad less pigmented than perfect but it is still build-able and works as a great crease shade. I'm pretty sure that I'd also be able to use this as an eyebrow powder for when I need to be super stingy with travel makeup options. Despite my terrible swatching skills, the orange bronze is absolutely STUNNING and makes for a great one-shadow smokey eye. Overall, I'm super into warm tones at the moment so this palette is ticking all the boxes. My only qualm with it is that the shadows do take a little more work to blend. They're not as buttery as RAL's shadows, but considering the contrast in price, I'm really impressed.
Sweet Canyon palette ingredients: mica, amihope LL (lauroyl lysine), white kaolin clay, jojoba oil, may contain: zinc stearate, titanium dioxide, iron oxides CI77491/CI77492/CI77499
I've spent way too much on makeup this month but have you tried anything from Hynt Beauty? What do I need next?
